A line-up of 72 films@JIFF
The Jaipur International Film Festival – JIFF which is now considered a part of the most prominent film festivals of the world is back with a line-up of 72 films starting from 6 to 10 January, 2018. These films were selected from among 1677 applications received from around 79 countries across the world.
The list has maximum films, totaling 19 from India while USA (11 Films) ranks second and Germany, Canada, Iran, France (3-3 Films from each country) at third. Besides India, the remaining 48 (and 5 films Co Production) films are from Russia, China, Germany, USA, Canada, Spain, France, Australia, UAE, Iran, England, Poland and Finland etc..
The selectors have chosen these films from 1677 entries received so far. This list of selected films includes 16 Feature Fiction Films, 9 Documentary Feature Films, 4 Short Documentary Films, 6 Animation Short Films, 32 Short fiction films and 5 student short films have been selected for JIFF 2018.
These films have been selected by a selection board of 51 members of which 31 are Indian and 20 are from abroad.

72 films from 21 countries have been selected from 1677 films received from around 79 countries.
The total time period of the selected films is 3129 minutes.
Films made by Crowdfunding are also included.
With the selection of 9 documentary feature films, JIFF is became India’s first film festival which is going to screen nonfiction films altogether from last 3 years.
In this way the most talked about films all over the world have been included in the first list of the selected films for JIFF 2018.
In merely 9 years this festival has found its place, in a very interesting way, in the league of the world’s topmost film makers.
The second and final list of selected films will be released in first week of December this year.
The JIFF people are extremely happy with the number of entries. In comparison to last year, this year there is an increase of 5% in the number of entries. This clearly indicates that JIFF is gaining worldwide reputation and prestige.
