A tribute to war heroes
Gopal Namjoshi, a renowned Art Installation Artist and Murlist, is back with yet another amazing piece of work, but this time it’s more than just an installation. In his own unique style, Namjoshi pays tribute to the war heroes of Kargil with his latest work, “No BULLET can pierce thy SOUL”.
Commemorating 17 years of Kargil Victory, Namjoshi has exclusively created 22 feet high Soldier Figure with his Gun. 80,000 shiny Bullet shells from toe to head cover the 3 storey high soldier structure. The Installation comprises of Mild Steel structure beneath, Camouflage cloth to represent the army and weighs in at 650 Kilograms altogether.
Gopal Namjoshi, the Public Installation Artist of international acclaim with his team salutes the spirit of patriotism and victory which made India win the most difficult war of Kargil.
According to Namjoshi, the inspiration originated from undying spirit of a soldier and his rooted belief in the quotes from “Gītā”, “nainam chindanti sastrani, nainam dahati pavakah, na cainam kledayanty apo, na sosayati marutah” (The soul can never be cut into pieces by any weapon, nor can he be burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind).
Talking about the installation Gopal says “I want people to approach my work and feel compelled to walk around it and view it from different angles. I want them to walk around , feel them, experience and engage with the installation”.
The installation was created in 30 days and considered to be Namjoshi’s tallest work so far that was displayed at the Central Atrium of Select City Walk Mall, Saket Delhi
